In today’s world, solving real-world problems requires a collaborative effort between industries and academia. This presentation will explore the procedures, advantages, and challenges of industry collaboration and funding in solving real-world problems as a graduate student. We will discuss the importance of industry collaboration and funding, the procedures involved in the collaboration process, and the advantages of such collaborations. We will also discuss the challenges during the collaboration process and how to overcome them. By the end of this presentation, you will have a better understanding of the procedures, advantages, and challenges of industry collaboration and funding in solving real-world problems.
Dewan F. Wahid is a Data Scientist at Loblaw Companies Ltd. He holds a Ph.D. in Computational Science and Engineering from McMaster University, an M.Sc. in Computer Science from the University of British Columbia, and an MS & B.Sc. in Mathematics from the University of Chittagong. His research interests include data-driven optimization, big data clustering, network science, and machine learning.
